Cooking Up a Storm!

The students in years 3-6 are participating in the ‘Cooking Up a Storm’ program. They have participated in a lesson to discuss rules and hygiene in the kitchen, become familiar with the types of utensils they will be using and meet “Chef Debbie”.

Cooking is a very valuable skill and eating healthy food is very important! Today, the students followed a recipe to make apple-maple granola. The students had a lot of fun making something they haven’t made before. Take a look at the photos below!

    Cooking up a storm was so fun !!! I think my group enjoyed it alot and it was very funny when we were tasting the granola because i didn’t like it that much and i don’t think anyone in my group liked it either.

      I agree, The Granola didn’t taste that good… But the Greek yogurt tastes really disgusting!

        I definitely think that the Greek yoghurt tastes disgusting but it was fun when we made it. So sad I am going to miss out for two weeks because of my holiday. But I agree with you Cecilia and Tony.

    Cooking up a storm was really fun! What I like about cooking up a storm is that we learn new food and everything we make is healthy. So far I have learnt how to make cronalla and mixing it with yoget is really nice! What do you think we will make next?

      I agree with you. It was so much fun!! What I like about Cooking Up a Storm is that it is always fun and healthy. I have learnt so far how to cook a delicious Granolla. I think that we are going to cook something even tastier than the Granolla.

        Thanks to the teachers who taught cooking up a storm. We had so much fun! I loved it a lot learning, making new food is really fun and it was healthy as well. It sure is going to be a fun term with cooking up a storm, it’s good that we have a range of activities that we are involved in. I’m so exited!! can’t wait until next lesson.     Cooking up a storm was really enjoyable i saw lots of people excited my group was really excited.What is liked about is that we make a healthy food such a gronola,oats etc.What i learnt that in a kitchen there is rules that i never knew like girls have to tie their hair back, when to wear an apron.cooking up a storm is a really great cooking session for people how wants to experient what cooking is. What do you like about cooking up a storm?

    During cooking up a storm, I enjoyed it. Everybody did. Chef Debbie was a great person to cook with. I wonder what we will be cooking next week. The gondola was nice and tasty. I think the gondola is a good treat to have for a snack.

    Cooking up a a storm was fun. My group and me were cooking granola. I liked cooking it but not so much eating it. This is the ingredients dried apples, sun flower seeds, pumpkin seeds, lemon and orange zest, dried apricot, Greek yogurt and fresh fruit. To me it taste better without the Greek yogurt. Have you ever tasted granola.

    Cooking up a storm was really an adventure! I really enjoyed it (but not the granola) I never knew cooking could be so fun! What I have learnt that is how to make granola!!!! My mum loves it! Too bad I can’t remember how to make it……..

      To cook all you need is:
      * Big bowl
      * Spoon
      * Measuring cups
      * Tray
      * Cooking paper
      * Assorted nuts
      * Maple syrup
      * Cinnamon
      * Pinch of salt
      * Sliced apple
      * Lemon yeast

      And maybe that’s it!

    I didn’t like the granola with Greek yogurt but the granola by itself was delicious and my dad loves the granola. But I just only forgot 1 recipe…
