In the beginning of every mathematics lesson, the students of Five White choose an activity they would like to complete in order to help them learn their multiplication tables. The students can choose from the following activities.
- Play online multiplication games.
- Create a rap/pop song about a multiplication table.
- Create a poster of a multiplication table.
- Complete multiplication activities on the iPads.
- Time yourself as you complete a multiplication grid.
- Play a multiplication game with a host and contestants.
- Create your own flash cards and test yourself or someone else.

I have done a rap. Watching these raps made me learn from them. But I have to say that if you write your own rap it will make you learn more for sure! Before I made the 6 times tables rap I have to be honest I didn’t know one bit of the 6 times tables. Now since i wrote it I memorized it yayyyy!

I loved watching the raps. Now I have learnt my 7,6 and 4 time tables. To be honest i didn’t really know my 6 or 7 that much so these raps helped me.

I think all those videos are really good and i know all my 6 , 7 and 4 times tables off by heart.We all tried really hard and before i knew my 6, 4 and 7 times tables but i didnt memorise them and now i have.

i know all those were good videos especially yours. I learnt the exact same time tables from watching those videos and even our own raps can teach us a lot , it was really hard to memorise them before but know look at us were time table wizards!

I have played the game with the host and the contestants with Isabelle and Simone if you saw back at the picutres. To be honest it was kind of hard but I tryed and kept on trying till I got the answer right. yes It helps me because i get a few right now because I have been practicing.

I did see the photo of you guys playing the host and contestant game it sounds like you are certainly awesome at it. I had a turn at the game and at first it seemed hard but then i got he hang of it just like you. I definitely believe that you are amazing to keep trying and trying , i agree that it can certainly help us all , just because you practised.

The activity I’ve done was play online multiplication games, Completing multiplication activities on the iPads, Creating a poster of a multiplication tables and Playing a multiplication game with a host and contestants.

Hi Andrea,
Thank you for replying to our post. Most children in year six, count everyday to help them remember and practice multiplication. In year six, we do lots of projects where we need to use all the multiplication we have learnt in the younger grades. Sometimes we even create our own tutorial videos, just like you did! Maybe we can share them with your class one day. Keep up the great writing. We are really enjoying reading your posts.
