The Minnamurra Rainforest

On Tuesday 19th February, Five White and Five Green went to the Minnamurra Rainforest as they are learning about rainforests this term. Minnamurra Rainforest is part of Budderoo National Park, located on the New South Wales South Coast. Year five left school at approximately 7:30am and arrived at approximately 9:15am. It was then time for recess and a presentation by a guide about interesting information about Minnamurra Rainforest and other rainforests around the world.

Five White and Five Green then split up as the guides took them on a tour of the rainforest. They pointed out interesting trees and plants and shared more of their valuable knowledge about the rainforest and the animals that live there. The guides then left year five to continue the walk to the amazing waterfall. Miss Azzopardi is really proud of Five White’s enthusiasm and motivation to get to the top! It was a very challenging and highly rewarding walk!

    Dear: Five White & Miss.Azzopardi

The part I liked the most was seeing one direction and waving to a plant that waves back at you. What I learnt about… back in the days people use to cut a tree called red gold and they took monthes to cut the tree, they left one at the Minnamurra rainforest.

    Sincerely,
    Alicia

We all had an amazing time at the Rainforest and I think we can all agree. My favourite time at the Rainforest was when we saw the waterfall, I was so jealous of all the little fish swimming! I also learnt a lot of things , like there was a tree that had big leaves that were the shape of a love heart and could give you a harmful sting! , I also learnt that there was a rock that had been here when the dinosaurs were alive!, plus many more things about animals, types of plants and tribes of people that lived in Rain forests all around the world . Can you name one or more of the animals of the Rainforest ?

    Yours truly,

It was quite tiring to walk all the way up the hill. But it was worth walking all the way up the hill to see the very beautiful waterfall. I learnt about many types of different things which were in the Minnamurra rainforest like the big rock when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, the Water Dragon, The story, the people who lived here a long time ago and also that lyrebirds imitate other birds sound. I would have been very happy to see a real lyrebird in the bushes.
